The Sparkasse enters the cloud business. Documents and passwords should be secured using the “S-Trust” app. Sparkassenverlag is currently looking for test persons who will examine the application in terms of its practical suitability.

Sparkasse is promoting its new app with the slogan “The cloud that Germany trusts”. Under “S-Trust” - a revived Sparkasse brand - users can save their documents and passwords securely. Strictly speaking, the app has two main functions. On the one hand, saved documents and emails can be forwarded to a separate address in the app. On the other hand, passwords can be stored there.
Sparkassenverlag is now looking for test subjects on social
media. The main advertising here is that all data is stored on European
servers. The test users can use the app permanently free of charge. After the
test phase there will be a free basic version. A fee must then be paid for more
storage. This is expected to be 1.99 euros a month. Sparkasse customers receive
a 50 cents discount on the monthly fee.
AN APP FOR SECURITY-ORIENTED USERS
The success depends not only on the high level of trust placed in the Sparkasse, but also on the implementation. If the handling is too complicated, the application will hardly be able to establish itself. After all, there is strong competition with Dropbox. For security-conscious users, however, the “S-Trust” app will definitely be a good - and above all reassuring - option.
After all: The first user reviews for the app are positive. And such a test phase also has a big advantage: users don't chalk up errors so quickly, while the Sparkasse has the opportunity to learn from them.
